Wooden Impact – Ta-Bamm!!!

A fresh encounter between sound and movement: marimba and tap dance in dialogue.

In their new program Ta-Bamm!!!, Swiss duo Wooden Impact explores the shared language of rhythm through refined tap choreographies by Daniel Borak and the expressive marimba playing of Manuel Leuenberger. From Bach to contemporary works and improvisation, Ta-Bamm!!! is a playful and poetic journey across musical time.

The multiple world champion in tap dance Daniel Borak and the Marimba Artist Manuel Leuenberger made their stage debut as a duo in 2016 during a tap dance festival launched by Daniel Borak. Ever since, they have pursued their idea of an exclusive percussive duo.

Six years later, in 2022, they announced their stage Duo name „Wooden Impact“ and premiered an all new show in Belgium. With the standing ovation of that show in mind, Daniel and Manuel are looking at the bigger picture: performing world wide and bring innovation and creativity to both the tap dance and the marimba scene.

Both artists are highly trained in their field and put all their heart and artistry into the all new duo „Wooden Impact“. Manuel Leuenberger studied with leading marimbists like Katarzyna Mycka, Svet Stoyanov and Emmanuel Séjourné while Daniel Borak holds eleven gold medals from international tap dance championships. The duo is a perfect match and ready for the world stage.
